He spent over six months in a coma, waking up in January 2017, and continued his rehabilitation at Walkergate Park Centre before returning home in November 2017.

The injuries Joseph sustained have left a lasting impact on his eyesight, taste, hearing, balance, and speech. Despite these challenges, he set his sights on rebuilding his life, turning to his newfound passion for comic books.
