Reuben Greenwood

Reuben, who joined Thompsons in 1998, is the regional union client relations co-ordinator. He was previously the managing partner of Thompsons' Birmingham branch, which covers the firm's presence across the West Midlands.

In his role as regional managing partner, Reuben was responsible for ensuring that the lawyers he works with delivered the excellent client service that Thompsons is known for.

Reuben's specialism as a lawyer is in serious accidents, including those leading to life changing injuries, requiring a package of life long care and support. In addition to serious accident claims, Reuben has led on asbestos disease litigation throughout the Midlands for many years, including Pleural thickening, asbestosis, asbestos-related lung cancer and mesothelioma claims.

Reuben has always shared Thompsons' vision and values and is proud to have won millions of pounds for his clients over the years.

Outside of work, Reuben enjoys spending time with his family, helping to run his son's football team and cycling.

Reuben's case experience

• Represented a client crushed in a work accident which left him catastrophically injured, with a loss of cognitive capacity and in need of round the clock care and new accommodation adapted to his needs. The significant interim payments and pre-trial settlement secured by Reuben included a periodical payments order and a lump sum for life.

• Secured £185,000 on behalf of a man who was diagnosed with mesothelioma aged only 57 and who died shortly after having a surgery.

• Represented a client diagnosed with asbestosis after being exposed while working as a plumber and a waterman for a brewery in the fifties, sixties and seventies. Reuben recovered �25,000 with a provision that should his client's condition deteriorate in the future, he could claim further compensation.
