About William Seymour

William is a clinical negligence solicitor based in Thompsons London office. He is a member of the national medical negligence team at Thompsons, supporting those who have been injured or who have lost a loved one due to negligent treatment in a healthcare setting.

William deals with a full range of medical negligence cases, including failure to diagnose cancer, orthopaedic misdiagnosis and surgical errors. He also represents clients in secondary victim claims who have suffered psychological injury as a result of witnessing a traumatic event that causes them to fear for their own life or that of a loved one.

With over 15 years of experience as a dedicated Solicitor, William is unwavering in his pursuit of justice for individuals who have suffered injuries due to negligent actions. He consistently seeks to secure the maximum compensation his clients are entitled to.

Adopting a resolute and proactive approach to litigation, William also provides the support and reassurance his clients need when entrusting their cases to him. In addition, he prioritises obtaining interim payments to accelerate rehabilitation efforts whenever possible.

William enjoys cycling, the occasional triathlon (too much running!) and coaching mini rugby outside of work.

William's case experience

  • Settled a claim for the widow and minor children of a young husband who sought treatment on three occasions but was refused care by an ambulance and a hospital trust. He was subsequently diagnosed with sepsis, but treatment commenced too late and he died. William was able to prove that with earlier treatment, he would have survived with no complications, securing substantial compensation for the family.
  • Successfully settled a claim for over £500,000 for a patient undergoing hernia surgery which resulted in perforations to her bowel and bladder, resulting in the Claimant requiring lifelong care.
  • Pursued a claim for a young active man who suffered a knee injury playing football which a radiologist failed to diagnose on an MRI scan. With the assistance of expert evidence, William proved the ligament injury should have been diagnosed and treated following that MRI scan, securing compensation for his client.

Throughout my case, which spanned several years, my solicitor William Seymour was always available to answer queries and support me during a very challenging time. Although I found it all overwhelming and quite honestly still trying to come to terms with it all, Williams kindness and support was encouraging and gave me the strength and energy I need to conclude my case.
