Mark Allen

Based at our Leeds office, Mark has 29 years' experience working exclusively for injured people, particularly those suffering from industrial disease.

Mark has dealt with a wide range of cases including noise-induced hearing loss, work-related neck and upper limb disorders, hand-arm vibration syndrome (also known as vibration white finger or VWF), occupational cancers and injuries such as dermatitis arising from hazardous substances in the workplace.

Mark supervises colleagues in the industrial disease team in Leeds and his dedication, knowledge and professionalism ensure that the highest possible compensation is achieved for clients in the shortest time possible.

Outside of work, Mark is a keen coarse and fly fisher and walker.

Mark's case experience

• Secured a settlement from multiple defendants for firefighter Paul Russel. Paul developed a gastric illness and a flare up of an underlying condition affecting his ankle after ingesting water from the River Tees, which contained levels of E. coli and Streptococcus that exceeded EU bathing standards, while taking part in a training exercise at Tees White Water Centre.

• Supported a client with degenerative osteoarthritis which became symptomatic earlier than expected due to their work. Mark made a pre-action disclosure against the employer, which he pursued to penal notice when the employer did not comply with the order, securing a settlement of £50,000.

• Secured £13,000 for a client who had only ever worked for one employer and had developed noise induced hearing loss and tinnitus, using medical evidence to also justify a claim for hearing aids and associated costs.

• Secured a settlement for a client who suffered acoustic shock while working in a BT call centre.
