Asbestos victim calls for help from former workmates

Employed at Aluminium Wire and Cable in the 1960's and Velindre Tinplate Works in the early 1970's

Jeff was diagnosed with asbestosis at Singleton Hospital. Asbestosis causes him breathlessness and impacts on his day to day living.

Mr Jenkins said “I have suffered with my chest for many years but it was not until recently that on looking at my scans the doctor diagnosed me with asbestosis. I spent many years at Aluminium Wire and Cable working around the furnace area and also at Velindre Tinplate Works in the 1970's. I would like to speak to any men who worked at Aluminium Wire and Cable and Venlindre Tinplate Works about the use of asbestos at those premises”.

Amanda Jones from Thompsons Solicitors added “It is important that we gather as much evidence as possible as of Mr Jenkins' exposure to asbestos. We would be interested to speak with anybody who worked at Aluminium Wire and Cable in the late 1960's or Velindre Tinplate Works in the 1970's who can recall asbestos at either of those premises.”
